![]() ![]() ![]() Upon checking the initial security tab, my username does not appear at all on the list of users that have any defined permissions with the folders or files, it only appears in the parent folder of the game & WindowsApps folder. I open a new File Explorer window & return to the folders within WindowsApps im trying to own, I try to do anything with the files within, it says I need admin permission which I give & it says it failed & asks to try again?.I hit Ok, check the box to override child permissions with what my username has, then hit Apply, wait for the changes to complete & hit Ok again, closing out the windows.I expand the permissions to show advanced ones & check the "Full Control" box to make sure it enables all options & make sure it applies to "This folder, subfolders and files".I repeat step 2 to make sure i choose the same username that owns the folder. After it shows my username as owner, I click "Add" button & blue "Select Principal" words next.Click "Advanced" again, click "Find Now" button & click on my username, the same name that the old WindowsApps folder shows that has ownership & permissions for everything.Click "Advanced" & click blue "change" word next to owner name.Right click WindowsApps folder & open security tab.How it looks right now, WindowsApps & (example here) Microsoft.Chelan folder aka MCC are shown as owned by me but the files & folders within MCC's folder arent owned by me even though I keep checking the box to apply ownership & permission changes to everything within. However, no matter how many times I try to add my account to ownership of everything within that folder on the new drive, it doesnt pass that ownership change to every file & folder within. Some remnants of the files I took ownership of within the WindowsApps folder are still in its old location & still show EVERY folder & file in there as owned by me. When I got a new SSD to move my games to, I moved them but it unfortunately undid my changes & now I need a refresher on how to take ownership back. Awhile ago I messed with security permissions to give ownership of game pass games to me & not whatever it is Microsoft sets up as default (i forget). ![]()
